Man dies in hospital after Transperth bus crash in Wanneroo in Perth’s north

A 61-year-old passenger who was critically hurt in a bus crash in Perth’s northern suburbs has died from his injuries.

The man was one of seven passengers who were injured when the driver of a Transperth bus lost control on Joondalup Drive in Wanneroo around 11am on Thursday and crashed into a tree.

He was taken to Joondalup Health Campus for treatment and later transferred to Royal Perth Hospital (RPH), but died overnight.

A 59-year-old woman who was critically injured in the crash remains in RPH in a serious condition.

The bus driver, a 56-year-old man, was also taken to RPH for medical treatment, while five other passengers were hurt.

A 26-year-old man believed to have been seated at the back of the bus has been discharged from hospital.

Police said inquiries into the incident were ongoing.
