Patna: Semi-nude body of a chicken shop owner, Ankit Kumar (26), was found at Maniya Chowk in Khoja bazaar locality under Kasim bazaar police station areas in Munger district on Sunday. The victim had serious injury marks on his body, police said.Ankit, a resident of Khoja bazaar, had set up his chicken shop at Maniya Chowk and was the sole breadwinner of his family.On receiving information, police reached the spot and sent the body to sadar hospital for postmortem.Kasim bazaar SHO Ruby Kant Kashyap said, “Ankit’s family members had a dispute four days ago with cloth shop owner Sarita Kumari alias Nisha, her husband and her brother, Sanjay Kumar. The fight was over the disposal of waste from Ankit’s shop. The cloth shop owner alleged that the garbage was affecting her business and troubling customers. Tension had been brewing between both sides since then.”The family filed an FIR against unidentified persons in this regard.Ankit’s brother, Gyan Vikas, also told police that Ankit had another fight late on Saturday evening with neighbour Arvind Sahu. Ankit’s four goats had reportedly entered Arvind’s house and eaten stored grain. The argument escalated into a physical fight the same day.Family members said that after the disputes, they were worried about Ankit’s safety.According to Gyan, “Ankit was last seen near the house around midnight on Saturday. After that, he went missing. His body was found on Sunday morning.”Ankit was the younger of two brothers. The family said he supported them through his hard work. His sudden death has left them in financial as well as emotional distress.“The earlier disputes, Saturday night’s fight and other possible motives are all being investigated. The exact cause of death and circumstances will become clear after the autopsy report arrives. Technical evidence is being collected and suspects are being questioned,” the SHO added.
