PATNA: A young woman was allegedly dragged for nearly 100 metres by her boyfriend on a motorcycle in Nalanda district after an argument over marriage, prompting a police investigation. A video of the incident has since surfaced on social media.The incident took place in the Rajgir police station area, where the woman, a local resident, had reportedly called her boyfriend, who is from Nawada district, to meet her. According to police, the two had been in a relationship for a long time and frequently met in Rajgir.During the meeting, the woman raised the issue of marriage. Police said the accused, who works as an Amin in Nardiganj block of Nawada district, again refused to marry her. Following a heated argument, he allegedly decided to leave.As the man attempted to ride away on his motorcycle, the woman tried to stop him by holding onto the bike. Instead of stopping, the accused allegedly continued riding, dragging her along the road for around 100 metres.The video shows bystanders chasing the motorcycle while recording the incident and asking the rider to stop.The motorcycle eventually lost balance and both the man and the woman fell onto the road. Locals rushed to help them, and one person was seen confronting the accused before others intervened and calmed the situation.In the video, when questioned by bystanders, the accused is heard claiming that the woman was his wife and that it was a domestic matter.Rajgir station house officer Abhijeet Kumar said the incident occurred four to five days ago and was linked to a marriage dispute between the couple. During the investigation, police identified the accused as an Amin posted in Nardiganj, Nawada.The officer said the woman has now filed a written complaint against her boyfriend at Nardiganj police station in Nawada, where further legal action is being taken.
