The 2026 edition of WWE SummerSlam features several marquee bouts, including Seth Rollins himself challenging Reigns for the World Heavyweight Championship, CM Punk defending the Undisputed WWE Championship against Cody Rhodes, and Oba Femi facing Brock Lesnar inside Hell in a Cell. However, Rollins admitted that the match between Gunther and Nick Aldis has caught his attention the most, and he is most interested in watching the bout. WWE Superstar Seth Rollins has revealed the SummerSlam 2026 match he is most interested in, and it is not his highly anticipated showdown with Roman Reigns. He has opened up that the bout between Gunther and Nick Aldis has caught his attention the most and he is looking forward to witness the match.According to Fightful, WWE has announced that Nick Aldis will make his long-awaited return to the ring when he faces Gunther at SummerSlam. It was officially announced during WWE’s SummerSlam Kickoff event at Fanatics Fest in New York, following a confrontation involving the two men and WWE Chief Content Officer Triple H. Announcing the match, Triple H stated, “This is the WWE. What do we do? We get in the ring, we settle our differences. So at SummerSlam, it will be the Ring General Gunther versus Nick Aldis. You guys will settle this once and for all at SummerSlam.”However, the reason behind Seth Rollins’ excitement and interest is probably due to Nick Aldis comeback after a long-hiatus. Speaking recently on Busted Open Radio, he stated, “I think anytime anybody’s coming off of a long hiatus, and he has never really laced up the boots inside a WWE ring, there’s a ton of intrigue, and so actually, the Gunther Aldis match is one that has my attention.”“The other ones, you kind of know what you’re gonna get. I don’t mean that in a bad way. You know that Hell in a Cell’s probably gonna be a war, you know what you’re gonna get with Punk and Cody, you’ve seen them at their peak. I think there’s the mystery of what does Nick Aldis have in the tank,” Rollins further added. The WWE star explained that Aldis’ lengthy absence from in-ring competition makes the bout particularly intriguing. He also added that watching Aldis compete for the first time in nearly three years has grabbed his attention, because he wants to see what the former SmackDown GM has left in the tank.Aldis has not wrestled since 2023 and has spent his WWE tenure as the SmackDown General Manager. His match against Gunther will mark his WWE in-ring debut since his break from WWE, though he was recently seen at Saturday Night’s Main Event, costing Gunther the win.
