‘Spider-Man: Brand New Day’ recorded another historic box office win, this time with the Tom Holland-led superhero epic, officially crossing the USD 1 billion mark at the global box office.

The film, which was made on a reported production budget of USD 225 million, is now setting its sights on a potential USD 2.1 billion lifetime global haul, according to early industry projections. This would set the film up to join the league of seven films that have crossed the two billion dollar mark.

Tom Holland scores second USD 1 billion dollar film as a leading man
This also marks another career milestone for Holland, as ‘Spider-Man: Brand New Day’ becomes his second film as a leading man to cross the USD 1 billion mark globally. His previous billion-dollar success came with 2021’s ‘Spider-Man: No Way Home’, which opened to USD 260 million domestically during the pandemic and went on to earn over USD 1.9 billion worldwide.The film has also surpassed director Christopher Nolan‘s box office collections of ‘The Odyssey’, which had a two-week head start at the box office. Both films starred Holland, Zendaya and Jon Bernthal in lead roles.

‘Spider-Man: Brand New Day’ which managd to swing to a record-breaking start at the box office, did so without the film’s release in IMAX. Now, with the window closing on ‘The Odyssey’, the film is now officially gearing up for its IMAX release on August 7.
