SA Police arrest alleged ‘fight club’ organiser, seven other teenagers reported

SA Police have arrested the alleged organiser of a “fight club” and reported seven other teenagers they say are linked to videos of amateur bouts posted online.

In a statement, police said the 17-year-old boy was arrested at his Davoren Park home on Tuesday.

He was charged with seven counts of aiding and abetting fighting in a public place and seven counts of publishing material depicting offences.

The teenager was bailed to appear in the Elizabeth Youth Court in September.

Videos of the alleged bouts were posted on YouTube and Instagram and emerged through media reporting earlier this month.

Police said they also reported a further seven teenagers from Adelaide’s northern suburbs for fighting in a public place, including five boys aged between 14 to 17 and two girls aged 13 and 15.

They will be summonsed to appear in court at a later date.

“Northern District Police continue to investigate and identify youths allegedly involved in organised fight videos posted to social media,” police said in the statement.

Police previously said more than 30 children could allegedly be seen in the videos.
