Hazaribag: MP Manish Jaiswal on Wednesday took part in the general board meeting of the Hazaribag Municipal Corporation and directed civic body officials to prioritise the construction of roads and drains and setting up an efficient stormwater disposal system within the city limits.In his first appearance at the civic body’s board meeting as an ex officio member, Jaiswal assured the corporation of providing money from his MPLADS fund for procuring essential machinery and equipment if required. The meeting was chaired in the presence of Hazaribag mayor Arvind Rana.Jaiswal proposed preparing plans under the 15th Finance Commission grants for the beautification and desilting of ponds, modern parking facility near Keshav Hall, expansion of the old vegetable market at the old bus stand, among others. He also highlighted the need to widen major roads in the city to ease traffic congestion.“I have been interacting regularly with the mayor and other civic body representatives regarding civic issues and development proposals,” Jaiswal said after the meeting.
