A man in his 30s has been fatally shot in Melbourne’s inner-north-west overnight.
About 12:15am, officers were called to North Street in Ascot Vale, where they found the man with suspected gunshot wounds.
“He was taken to hospital in a critical condition but later died,” a Victoria Police spokesperson said.
Homicide Squad detectives are investigating how the man was injured and have set up a crime scene in the street.
Officers were also seen examining parked cars and various retail stores nearby.
No arrests have been made and detectives are urging anyone with information to contact Crime Stoppers.
