Bengaluru: The Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Limited (BMRCL) has received in-principle approval from Railway Board for Communications-Based Train Control (CBTC) signalling system for Pink Line (Kalena Agrahara–Nagawara) and Blue Line (Silk Board–Kempegowda International Airport).BMRCL said the approval after a month’s followup with Railway Board and Research Designs and Standards Organisation (RDSO) is a key milestone towards commissioning the elevated stretch of Pink Line between Kalena Agrahara and Tavarekere.For the Pink Line, BMRCL will now undertake the remaining statutory procedures, including interim speed certification by RDSO, inspection of the rolling stock by the Commissioner of Railway Safety (CRS), trial runs and final statutory inspection and clearance before opening the line for passenger services.The CRS is expected to inspect the new Pink Line train sets from Aug 12 to 14. BMRCL has so far received eight train sets for the line.
