NRL live: Daniel Tupou scores hat-trick in 300th NRL game, Stephen Crichton injured as Raiders beat Bulldogs, Sharks hammer Dolphins 66-0

Canterbury captain Stephen Crichton has been removed from the the Bulldogs’ 40-16 loss to the Raiders on a medicab with coach Cameron Ciraldo confirming a recurrence of nerve issues in his neck and shoulder.

Crichton was blindsided by Noah Martin after passing in a seemingly innocuous hit to his back and shoulder that left him curled up on the grass.

The game paused for over eight minutes in the second half as trainers stabilised his neck and called for a stretcher, eventually taking Crichton off the field on a medicab.

After the game, Ciraldo said his star centre was up and about and feeling OK.

“He was in a fair bit of discomfort. He lost feeling down one arm.,” Ciraldo said.

“It was a little bit scary. He’ll get a scan and hopefully everything’s OK.”

Ciraldo said it was “an awful feeling” watching from up in the coach’s box, but said the actions of the trainers were out of an abundance of caution and Crichton wanted to get up and at least walk off the field.

Kurt Mann, standing in for Crichton at the post-match press conference, said it was “definitely scary to see one of your mates laying their like that”.

The day’s play wrapped up with the winger Daniel Tupou scoring a hat-trick of tries in the second half of his 300th NRL game as the Roosters beat the Eels 28-12.

Earlier, the Cronulla Sharks thumped the Dolphins 66-0 in Redcliffe.

In the NRLW, Jaime Chapman scored four tries as the Titans took down the Bulldogs, while Roosters just held off the Knights 12-10, and the Tigers beat the Cowboys 30-18.

Daniel Tupou, watched by the prime minister and princess of Tonga, scores his 192nd, 193rd and 194th NRL tries to celebrate his 300th NRL game in a 28-12 victory over Parramatta.

His teammates are all taking an extra moment to celebrate with the big winger, starting early with the likes of unavailable Roosters James Tedesco, Angus Crichton and Lindsay Collins. Even former Rooster Cooper Cronk takes a break from his Fox Sports obligations to embrace his ex-teammate.

And he joins a prayer circle with Pasifika players from both teams.

Araz Nanva finishes the game with his first NRL try

A big moment for the Parramatta centre as the first Kurdish player in NRL history crosses for the first try of his career right on the siren.

74′ Tupou gets an early mark

The milestone man is subbed off straight off the field after his third try, giving Rex Bassingthwaighte some game time for the final few minutes.

That’s a 16-year age gap between the players.

It’s hat-trick for Daniel Tupou in his 300th game!!!

The Roosters are making it look so easy now and this time Benaiah Ioelu rolls in a grubber and Daniel Tupou is all alone as he tracks it down and grounds it.

What a moment for this great of the game.

Sat 11 Jul 2026 at 9:16pm

70′ Hilarious stuff from the Eels

The Roosters force a dropout and there’s a long discussion between Jonah Pezet and Dylan Walker about who’ll take the kick. So much so that the buzzer goes off. No penalty, but then Walker just drills a low drop kick into touch about 5 metres out.

Sat 11 Jul 2026 at 9:11pm

It’s two for Tupou!

The Roosters have been peppering the right side with high kicks for Mark Nawaqanitawase tonight, but this time they line up for the launch left and Daniel Tupou flies over Brian Kelly to score his second try of the night.

And that will seal the win for the Roosters as Hugo Savala curls in the conversion from out wide.

Sat 11 Jul 2026 at 9:08pm

64′ Isaiah Iongi rocked

Benaiah Ioelu launches a surprise 40/20 attempt bu the ball bounces back away from the sideline.

The good news for the Roosters is that it freezes Isaiah Iongi, who is hammered by Rob Toia just after getting the ball.

Pure speed from Cody Ramsey sets up Billy Smith

A lovely pass from Hugo Savala to Cody Ramsey, who swerves and scythes between Jordan Samrani and Brian Kelly into the backfield. He comes to the fullback and perfectly holds up the pass for Billy Smith to dive in.

What a moment.

DANIEL TUPOU SCORES IN GAME 300!!

At long last the Roosters give the fans in the stands what they want with a superb left-side shift in the face of the defence sending Daniel Tupou down the left wing and he has just enough space to sneak in and dive over.

That’s try number 192 in game 300 for Tupou.

Hugo Savala misses the sideline conversion, so the Roosters only lead 10-6.

Sat 11 Jul 2026 at 8:52pm

50′ More fumbles from the Eels

Joash Papalii tries to throw a pass out the back but hits the back elbow of lead runner Teancum Brown.

Another turnover with the timing just off.

Sat 11 Jul 2026 at 8:49pm

47′ The Roosters tie the game

The Roosters knock on as they press for points yet again, but the Eels are called off side, so Hugo Savala pots the penalty goal to tie the score at 6-6.

Sat 11 Jul 2026 at 8:44pm

The Eels take the lead to start the second half

Dylan Walker hits stand-in skipper Jack Williams with a short ball and he bursts into the backfield before setting up Joash Papalii, on for Ronald Volkman, to score.

Jonah Pezet pots the conversion from right in front and the Eels are in front 6-4 despite being on the back foot for most of the game.

Sat 11 Jul 2026 at 8:41pm

41′ Roosters kick off the second half

And 300-gamer Daniel Tupou takes the first run of the second half.

Sat 11 Jul 2026 at 8:27pm

HALF-TIME: Roosters lead the Eels by only four points

I’m not entirely sure how, but the Roosters are only leading 4-0 despite utterly dominating the Eels in that first 40 minutes.

“We’re not executing,” Mark Nawaqanitawase tells Fox Sports.

That about sums it up.

Sat 11 Jul 2026 at 8:22pm

37′ Roosters and Eels firing shots

Both teams are throwing the ball around like crazy, but no-one can strike the final blow.

This time it’s the final pass out to Daniel Tupou on a short-side raid, which is just out in front and the 300-game man can’t handle.

But it’s called back as Billy Smith was hit with a shoulder charge as he passed by Jordan Samrani.

Sat 11 Jul 2026 at 8:08pm

24′ Josh Addo-Carr just misses out

Teancum Brown’s sensational offload unleashes Joash Papalii to get the Eels into the dangerzone.

They spin it left and Josh Addo-Carr is adamant he’s got it down, but the touch judge chimes in and is spot-on as he says he stepped on the sideline first.

Sat 11 Jul 2026 at 8:06pm

23′ Magic Mark almost does it again

He reels in another high ball and manages to pop a no-look pass over his shoulder, but this time Rob Toia can’t handle.

Sat 11 Jul 2026 at 8:01pm

18′ Ronald Volkman is done for the night

The Parramatta pivot is downed by an accidental elbow from Naufahu Whyte and he has to come off. That’s a Cat 1 HIA if ever I’ve seen one, so he’ll be finished for the rest of the evening.
