Prayagraj: A total of 1,373 candidates have qualified in the Physical Efficiency Test (PET) for various Group D posts in North Central Railway (NCR) till Monday, as the Railway Recruitment Cell (RRC) continued the recruitment drive at DSA Ground, NCR, Prayagraj. The PET, being conducted from July 25 to July 28, is part of the recruitment process for 2,020 vacancies notified on Jan 22, 2025.On Monday, 872 of the 1,261 candidates scheduled for the test appeared, with 500 clearing the PET. On July 25, 640 of 1,000 scheduled candidates appeared, of whom 251 qualified and 229 were unsuccessful. Around 160 candidates whose attempts were disrupted by heavy rainfall have been given another opportunity on a reserved date. On July 26, 928 of 1,250 candidates appeared, with 622 qualifying and 306 being declared unsuccessful.According to CPRO, NCR, Dr Shivam Sharma, a total of 3,736 candidates, including 3,511 males and 225 females, have been called for the physical test after being shortlisted through the Computer Based Test (CBT), conducted between Jan 27 and Dec 10, 2025. The CBT results were declared on July 1, 2026.Male candidates are required to run 1,000 metres in 4 minutes and 15 seconds and carry 35 kg for 100 metres in two minutes, while female candidates must complete the run in 5 minutes and 40 seconds and carry 20 kg for 100 metres in two minutes.Candidates are processed through document verification, biometric and Aadhaar authentication and RFID registration. Ambulances and medical teams are stationed at the venue, while RRC officials, railway staff, RPF personnel, Scouts and St John Ambulance Brigade members are overseeing the process, said Dr Sharma.
