In his report for the New York Post, Heyman wrote, “Mets backup catcher Luis Torrens would be a nice fit for the Yankees, who seek catching help. Ryan Jeffers, a big hitter (.949 OPS) about to return from a hamate injury, makes sense, but the Twins are contending in an ultra-weak AL.”Torrens has played 58 games for the Mets this season, batting .214 with two home runs and 18 RBIs. His offensive numbers are not the biggest draw, but he is a dependable catcher who bats right-handed.
