A desperate search is underway for a missing child after a man was found dead and a boat was spotted adrift in Sydney’s inner west.
Emergency services were called to Bayview Park, on Burwood Road in Concord, about 11:45am on Saturday, following reports that a man’s body was in the water.
Police said officers were told the man had been seen in a small boat with a young girl.
She is described as being about six or seven years old.
Police have established a command post and specialist resources have been deployed to assist in the search for the girl.
The man’s body is yet to be formally identified.
