A few days ago, LeBron James’ foundation, the LeBron James Family Foundation (LJFF) recently lost a beloved member of the organisation.In a heartbreaking post, the LeBron James Family Foundation (LJFF) posted, “Some people make you feel seen. Some people make you feel valued. Some people change your life. Mrs. Angel Whorton did all three. As a founding staff member & intervention specialist at the I PROMISE School in 2018, Angel dedicated her life to loving, understanding, and advocating for students who needed her most.”The post added, “Her bright spirit, contagious smile, and unforgettable hugs made every person around her feel seen and valued. One of our students once described her perfectly as the “best part of my day, every single day.” After years of courageously battling breast cancer, Angel’s strength, hope, and love continued to inspire everyone around her. As we celebrated her life this past weekend, we are reminded that her impact will live on through the countless students, families, and colleagues who were fortunate enough to know her.”The post by LeBron James Family Foundation (LJFF) continued, “Her name was Angel, and she truly lived up to it, bringing light, love, and hope to every person whose life she touched. For the unversed, LeBron James set up the LeBron James Family Foundation (LJFF) in 2004 for underprivileged families and children in the NBA legend’s hometown Akron, Ohio.Later, in 2018, the foundation set up I PROMISE School in partnership with Akron Public Schools for underprivileged children.In 2016, the former Los Angeles Lakers’ legend LeBron James opened up about it as he said, “It will mean everything to me…That’s why we have so many people looking after them, from mentors to I’ve got high school kids looking after our kids.
