Landslide in south-western China’s Chongqing traps people under rubble, destroys buildings

Chinese state media is reporting that a large landslide has occurred in Chongqing, in the country’s south-west.

Several residential buildings have been damaged and people have been buried under rubble, according to CCTV.

Footage from the scene shows large boulders lying over a roadway amid collapsed buildings, including houses. People can be seen running from the area.

It is unknown whether there have been any deaths.
