Actor Sundeep Kishan has officially announced his next feature film, ‘Karikaala’, a fantasy action entertainer planned as a two-part cinematic saga. The actor unveiled the film’s first-look poster on social media introducing fans to his rugged warrior avatar and confirming the release plans for both chapters.Along with the first look, Sundeep also shared a heartfelt note about joining hands with the film’s team for the ambitious project.Sharing the update, Sundeep wrote, “Teaming up for the incredibly ambitious Karikaala with visionary/passionate Director & Producers of Shambala… Migathadi motham Cinema Matladuthundi… (The rest will be spoken by the film itself.)”
A fantasy world inspired by Chandamama tales
‘Karikaala’ is directed by Ugandhar Muni and features Sundeep Kishan in the role of a fearless warrior. The story is set in a mythical universe that draws inspiration from the magical storytelling tradition of the classic Chandamama tales, which have entertained generations of readers with their folklore, fantasy and adventurous characters.The film also marks another major fantasy venture for director Ugandhar Muni following ‘Shambhala’. Music for the film has been composed by Sricharan Pakala who has worked in ‘Goodachari’, ‘Bubblegum’, and ‘Atharva’.
Two-part saga gets 2027 release dates
The makers have confirmed that ‘Karikaala’ will be released as a two-part franchise in 2027. The first instalment, Chapter 1, is scheduled to arrive in theatres on July 2, 2027. The second chapter has been locked for October 28, 2027.

Sundeep Kishan made his OTT debut with the web series ‘Super Subbu’.The show received a three-star rating in our exclusive review. Some of its most compelling themes are introduced but not explored as deeply as they could have been.”
