Pune: AISSMS Institute of Information Technology (AISSMS IOIT), Pune, signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Happy Science University (HSU), Japan, to strengthen academic and cultural collaboration through student exchange programmes, on Tuesday.The International Participation Cell (IPC) of AISSMS IOIT, organised a cultural interaction session titled “Japan Connect: A Cultural Interaction Session on Japanese Traditions, Language & Lifestyle”. Students from HSU visited AISSMS, and interacted with their counterparts. “It felt great to speak with so many people and learn first hand about their language, lifestyle and culture. We got to know of the similarities and differences between Indian and Japanese culture,” a student from AISSMS IOIT said.“There were a rang of activities planned, such as Origami, Anime identification quizzes, and a Japanese cultural dance performance. It enabled students to learn about Japanese culture in an enjoyable and experiential manner,” said, Dean, IPC M. A. Thalor.“We are grateful to have Mary Hashizume and students from Happy Science University, to help us strengthen our cultural understanding and allowing us to create this space for global education and international opportunities for the students. This MOU provides an institutional foundation for continued cooperation and future international initiatives.” said, Principal P.B. Mane.
