Thrissur: A six-year-old girl who was allegedly given rat poison by her father on Sunday died in the early hours of Wednesday while undergoing treatment at a private hospital in Kochi.The deceased, Rithika, was staying with her father Muthu, a guest worker from Tamil Nadu, at Anakallu, Perumbilavu, near Kunnamkulam.Her seven-year-old brother, who was also allegedly forced to consume rat poison by Muthu, remains in critical condition at the hospital.Muthu, who had also consumed poison, was admitted to Govt Medical College Hospital (MCH), Thrissur, under police custody. However, he later escaped from custody before being re-arrested. He has since been readmitted to the MCH.
