Chennai: A 70-year-old man was rescued by fire and rescue services after he accidentally fell into a 30-foot-deep public well near his house in Pallavaram on Tuesday.Joseph, of Pallavaram’s Purushothaman Street, lost his balance and fell into an unused well due to age-related instability. As the well was dry, his fall caused multiple injuries. Residents who witnessed the incident called Tambaram fire and rescue services. Firefighters descended into the well using ropes and brought him to the surface.He was taken to Tambaram Government Hospital for first aid and later moved to the Rajiv Gandhi Government General Hospital in Chennai, where he is now under intensive care. Pallavaram police have registered a case and are investigating.
