CHENNAI: Actor Trisha Krishnan has returned to social media with a series of cryptic Instagram Stories, days after the controversy surrounding former Tamil Nadu deputy chief minister Udhayanidhi Stalin’s alleged double-meaning remark involving her.The actor first shared pictures from her grandmother’s 98th birthday celebrations before posting two posts on her Instagram story that have caught attention amid the ongoing controversy.One of the posts read: “Drama at this age is embarrassing… Go make some money and find peace.”

How did the Udhayanidhi-Trisha controversy begin?
The controversy began after Udhayanidhi addressed a protest meeting in Thanjavur over the Cauvery water issue.During the event, members of the gathering reportedly chanted Trisha’s name, following which Udhayanidhi allegedly made a double-meaning remark involving the actor.The remark triggered a political and legal row, with Thanjavur police registering a case against Udhayanidhi under provisions of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), the Information Technology Act and the Tamil Nadu Prohibition of Harassment of Women Act.Udhayanidhi was subsequently arrested from his Chennai residence and taken to Thanjavur for questioning. He was later released on station bail after being questioned for around 90 minutes.The controversy has since turned into a wider political confrontation, with the DMK alleging political vendetta while the ruling side and others criticised Udhayanidhi’s alleged remarks.
