Begusarai: CM Samrat Choudhary on Sunday inaugurated 551 model schools across Bihar at a function held at B P Inter School in Begusarai. The schools, named ‘Saraswati Vidya Niketan’, are aimed at providing quality secondary and higher secondary education in every block of the state. The inauguration was held in online mode.The schools are expected to help students prepare for national-level entrance examinations such as NEET and JEE. Samrat also interacted with students during the programme before addressing a public meeting at the Barauni refinery township.Addressing the gathering, the CM said Prime Minister Narendra Modi envisaged India becoming a developed nation by 2047 and that Bihar, too, must achieve that goal. “If Bihar aspires to be developed by 2047, then quality education is a prerequisite. Good education is key to progress and prosperity,” he said.Samrat said the schools would focus on quality, innovation and inclusiveness. They would be equipped with smart classrooms, Bihar govt smart live classes and the FILO app. He added that the education department was working to ensure the availability of qualified teachers and proper laboratories.Describing the launch as a landmark moment for the state, the CM recalled inaugurating 211 degree colleges on July 15 to improve access to higher education for poor and marginalised students at the block level. He also promised to establish a state university in Begusarai in the name of noted Hindi poet Ramdhari Singh Dinkar.Samrat said his govt would soon complete its first 100 days in office and highlighted the success of the ‘Sahyog Camps’ initiative. “Around six lakh grievances have been registered, of which 5.6 lakh have been resolved,” he said.Outlining future plans, he said the govt was considering a riverside road from Simaria to Bhagalpur on the lines of the Loknayak Ganga Path in Patna. He also announced that a temple dedicated to Bhagwan Tirupati would be built on a 10-acre plot in Simaria.
