Multiple vehicles destroyed, several drivers injured after truck crashes into rest stop on Hume Highway, NSW

A driver is unaccounted for and at least five vehicles have been destroyed by fire after a truck crashed into a rest area near Goulburn.

Fire and Rescue New South Wales received a call just after 5am today that multiple trucks alight on the Hume Highway at Breadalbane, 30 kilometres south-west of Goulburn.

NSW police say three drivers are being treated for serious injuries at the scene.

There are reports of explosions, with a 300-metre exclusion zone in place.

The Hume Highway is closed in both directions between Gunning and Cullerin Road in Breadalbane, with motorists urged to avoid the area and allow more than an hour for extra travel time on diversions via the Federal and Barton Highways.
