India to attend Ayatollah Khamenei’s funeral amid tensions in West Asia

India will be represented at the funeral of Iran’s former Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei by Bihar Governor Lt Gen (Retd) Syed Ata Hasnain and minister of state for external affairs Pabitra Margherita, according to Iranian sources. The funeral ceremonies, scheduled from July 4 to July 9 across multiple Iranian cities, are expected to be attended by millions of mourners and several foreign dignitaries. Read full story

Delhi’s big EV push: No new petrol or CNG two-wheeler registration from 2028

The Delhi Cabinet has approved a sweeping new Electric Vehicle (EV) Policy that aims to accelerate the capital’s transition to clean mobility. From Januwary 1, 2027, only electric auto-rickshaws will be registered, while registrations of new petrol and CNG two-wheelers will end from April 1, 2028. The policy is likely to come into effect from July 1, Chief Minister Rekha Gupta said. To encourage adoption, buyers of electric two-wheelers will receive a Rs 30,000 subsidy and electric three-wheeler buyers Rs 50,000 in the policy’s first year. Read full story
