Dhanbad: To encourage quality nutrition services, early childhood education and innovative practices at anganwadi centres, the district social welfare and social security department, under the district administration, are jointly going to organise the “Outstanding Anganwadi Centre Award Ceremony-2026.” The awards will be presented during the Independence Day celebrations on Aug 15 at Golf Ground in Dhanbad.The programme is being conducted under the direction of DC Aditya Ranjan, with the objective of recognising anganwadi centres that have demonstrated excellence in delivering nutrition services, Early Childhood Care and Education (ECCE), and child-centric innovative activities. Based on a set of predefined evaluation parameters, 30 anganwadi centres across the district will be selected and honoured for their outstanding performance.DC Ranjan stated that the selected centres would be those consistently providing quality nutrition to children while effectively implementing all operational guidelines issued by the social welfare department. He emphasised that the initiative aims to motivate anganwadi workers and strengthen the delivery of child welfare services across the district.
