2 more FIRs against Sreelekha for rally poster

Kolkata: Even as all coercive action against NEET protesters has been suspended following the recent Supreme Court order, Kolkata Police has lodged two more FIRs against actor Sreelekha Mitra on July 30 and Aug 2 in connection with the controversial poster on PM Narendra Modi that she had displayed at the protest on July 24.An officer, in response to a TOI query on the status of all pending NEET protest cases and the need for a fresh FIR, reiterated that the force was following all Supreme Court directives “in letter and spirit”. Officers in the east division claimed there was no order to either stop a probe, or against lodging a fresh FIR.The July 30 case was filed after a complaint by Dipika Mondal of Malda, and the Aug 2 case was based on a complaint by 35-year-old Deepak Pandey. So far, Kolkata Police has lodged three FIRs against the actor involving the controversial poster showcased during the anti-NEET paper leak demonstrations in Kolkata police area.
