Shark bites diver’s forearm in waters off Bruny Island, Tasmania

A diver has been bitten on the forearm by a shark while in waters off Bruny Island, Tasmania, today.

Tasmania Police said they received a report about 9:10am of an attack at Coal Point, which was “was not life-threatening and involved a shark estimated at 2 metres in length”.

Police said the shark was “not described as a white pointer”.

Police said the 31-year-old male recreational diver “is receiving medical treatment at the scene for what are believed to be non-life-threatening injuries”.

“We’d like to thank the public for their assistance at the scene.”
