Man charged over alleged kidnapping murder of woman in Sydney’s north-west

A man has been charged over the alleged kidnapping and murder of a woman in Sydney’s north-west. 

Police started an investigation on Tuesday after reports the 58-year-old woman failed to return home.

Family members told officers they last heard from the woman on Monday, when she told them she was visiting a relative in Winston Hills.

The woman’s car was found about 9:30am the next day on Dodson Street in Winston Hills.

On Thursday, detectives arrested a 33-year-old man sitting in white Toyota Hilux in bushland along Parnell Fire Trail in Tomerang, south of Nowra.

A search warrant was later carried out at a property in Sanctuary Point.

The man was taken to Nowra Police Station, where he was charged with murder and refused bail.

Police said the body of the woman had not been located and investigations were ongoing.
