CHHATRAPATI SAMBHAJINAGAR: Shiv Sena (UBT) chief Uddhav Thackeray on Friday spoke with the CJP founder Abhijeet Dipke over the phone and assured him of the Opposition’s support.The conversation took place after Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Chandrakant Khaire visited Dipke’s residence and arranged a video call between the two. A video of the interaction was later shared on social media.During the call, Abhijeet told Thackeray that he would continue his fight for students until their demands were met.“I was there for an hour at his place. Uddhav Thackeray assured that the entire Opposition stands unitedly with Abhijeet Dipke,” Shiv Sena (UBT) Chandrakant Khaire said.Thackeray also spoke to Abhijeet’s mother, Anita, and asked about his marriage plans.“All parents want their children to get married. I had asked him earlier too. But it will be completely his decision,” Anita Dipke told Thackeray.On Thursday, Abhijeet Dipke alleged that he received repeated threats during the student protests and claimed he was pressured to join the BJP, saying his family would face consequences if he refused. He accused the Centre of intimidating students, alleged excessive police action against protesters, and urged Opposition parties to unite to “save democracy”.Dipke also criticised yoga guru Baba Ramdev, the Centre’s handling of education and paper leak cases, and alleged that students continued to face harassment even after the protests ended. He maintained that his movement for students’ rights would continue through democratic means.
