Man seriously injured in violent home invasion in Sydney’s south-west

A man has been seriously injured after a group armed with “bladed weapons” stormed a home in Sydney’s south-west.

Emergency services were called to Banksia Avenue in Greenacre, about 2am on Saturday, where they found a 23-year-old man with severe injuries to his left arm.

Police said four men armed with bladed weapons had forced their way into a home and demanded cash before attacking one of the occupants.

They then fled the scene in a black SUV.

The 23-year-old victim was treated by paramedics and taken to hospital in a stable condition.

A man and woman in their 40s, and two males aged 16 and 19, were also home during the attack but were not injured, police said.

A crime scene has been established and an investigation into the incident is underway.
