Luka Dončić’s legal dispute with his former fiancée, Anamaria Goltes, has taken another unexpected turn. Court records reviewed by The California Post show that Goltes filed a request on Monday to withdraw the child support petition she had brought against the Los Angeles Lakers star earlier this year. In the filing, she said she wants to resolve the matter through a mutual agreement that is in the best interests of their children. However, the dismissal has not yet been approved because the court noted that Dončić’s signature is missing from the paperwork.

According to court records reviewed by The California Post, Goltes filed a request to dismiss her child support petition on Monday. In her statement to the Los Angeles County court, she explained why she wanted to step back from the case.“I am withdrawing my Petition for Child Support,” Goltes wrote in a statement to a Los Angeles County court, “with the specific intention of resolving this matter amicably and by a mutual agreement which is in the best interests of our children.”She also asked for the dismissal to be made “without prejudice,” which means she would still have the option to file the petition again in the future if needed.The request has not yet been granted. Court officials noted that the filing is incomplete because it does not include Dončić’s signature.Goltes first opened the child support case on March 9. In her original filing, she did not explain why she was seeking child support, but she also stated that she was not asking the court for any custody orders involving their two daughters.

Soon after confirming that he and Goltes had ended their engagement, Dončić hired well-known family law attorney Laura Wasser to represent him in the case.On March 20, Wasser filed a motion asking the California court to dismiss Goltes’ petition. She argued that California was not the right place to hear the dispute.“California Petition is a clear attempt to forum shop and avail herself of the generous amounts of child support for which California is well-known.”Wasser also claimed that Goltes had been keeping the couple’s children away from Dončić, adding that the NBA star had already started a family law case in Slovenia in February 2026.“Slovenia is the appropriate forum for adjudication of this dispute.”A hearing on that motion had been scheduled for August 14.Dončić and Goltes had been together since their teenage years and share two daughters. When announcing their split in March, Dončić spoke publicly about his children in a statement to ESPN.“I love my daughters more than anything and I’ve been doing everything I can for them to be with me in the U.S. during the season, but that hasn’t been possible, so I recently made the tough decision to end my engagement.Everything I do is for my daughters’ happiness and I will always fight to be with them and give them the best life I can.”
