Bhopal: A 33-year-old man suffered burn injuries and fractured his leg after a mobile phone kept in his trouser pocket allegedly exploded while he was riding a motorcycle on the Pandhurna–Parsodi four-lane road in Madhya Pradesh’s Pandhurna district on Saturday morning.The injured, Sandeep Parteti, a resident of Temni Kalan village, was returning home from work when the incident occurred around 10.30 am. According to reports, the phone exploded inside his trouser pocket, setting his clothes on fire. He sustained burns on his thigh and the upper part of his private area before losing control of the motorcycle, which skidded on the road.Parteti was rushed to the district hospital, where doctors administered first aid before referring him to a hospital in Nagpur for specialised treatment. Medical examination revealed that he suffered around 9% burn injuries, while the crash caused a fracture in his leg. He is currently undergoing treatment in Nagpur.“His mobile phone exploded while he was riding a motorcycle. Parents of Sandeep are elderly. His extended family members have taken him to Nagpur for further treatment. He is still getting treatment there,” Temni Kalan village sarpanch Ram Charan Dhurvey told TOI.
