Chatra: Three members of the Rahul Dubey-led criminal gang were arrested during a raid in the Tandwa coal belt area on Tuesday. Firearms and ammunition were also seized from them, police said.The accused were identified as Sanjay Murti, Alok Kumar and Ajay Karmal, all in their thirties. Murti and Kumar are residents of Bokaro district, while Karmal hails from Hazaribag district.Tandwa sub-divisional police officer Prabhat Ranjan Barwar said a special team carried out the raid after receiving information that armed suspects were moving in and around Karo village and planning to commit a crime.“Preliminary interrogation revealed that they were conducting reconnaissance of coal sidings and monitoring the movement of coal traders. Their plan was to create fear by opening fire and to demand extortion money from businessmen. Police action foiled the conspiracy before it could be executed,” Barwar said.Police recovered a pistol, a country-made revolver, six live cartridges, a mobile phone and a bike from them.
