Dumka: Two teenage cousins were killed and three others sustained injuries in a head-on collision between two bikes on NH-114A near Sabejor in Deoghar district on Sunday evening, police said on Monday.The deceased were identified as 17-year-old Vikas Soren and 18-year-old Pradeep Soren, both residents of Medinisarai village under Budhai police station limits. The injured were identified as Mohammad Siraj Ansari, 17, Mohammad Imran Ansari, 18, and Guddu Ansari, 24, all residents of Panahkola in Madhupur.After primary treatment at Madhupur subdivisional hospital, the injured were referred to Deoghar Sadar Hospital, where the condition of Guddu was reported to be critical.Police said Pradeep was riding towards a local market with his cousin on a bike, while the three injured men were travelling on another bike from Madhupur towards Jagdishpur, when both motorcycles collided head-on near Sabejor.SDPO Satyendra Prasad and Madhupur police station officer in-charge Rajiv Kumar, who reached the spot, said both the bikes were seized and bodies sent for post-mortem examination.“None of the bike riders were wearing helmets. The exact cause of the crash is under investigation,” the OC said.
