Police lockdown of Emu Park neighbourhood lifted

The emergency lockdown of a central Queensland neighbourhood has been lifted.

Police had declared a public emergency at 1:40pm on Saturday following reports of shots being fired at Granville Street in Emu Park, east of Rockhampton.

The area within Pattison Street, Granville Street, William Street and Hill Street had been closed under the Public Safety Preservation Act (PSPA), with residents urged to stay indoors.

But police revoked that emergency declaration at 3:20pm after officers confirmed there were no firearms located nor any shots fired.

No-one was injured.

A police spokesperson said the incident was mental health-related.
