Josh Allen knows the 2026 NFL season will feel different from every one that came before. After welcoming daughter Harper Haize Allen with wife Hailee Steinfeld earlier this year, the Buffalo Bills quarterback is preparing to balance football with fatherhood. Speaking in a new interview, Allen reflected on the adjustments ahead while praising Steinfeld for helping him manage life both at home and on the field.
Josh Allen says Hailee Steinfeld has helped him find balance as new parents
With training camp approaching, Allen admitted that spending long periods away from home will not be easy. The Bills star said he already expects to rely heavily on technology to stay connected with his family throughout the season.“I can’t tell you exactly how I’m going to feel right at this moment,” Allen shared. “but it’s going to be obviously a lot of FaceTimes, a lot of calls. I don’t want to miss anything.”The quarterback also explained why having Steinfeld by his side has made the transition into parenthood much smoother.“To have a supportive partner, which I do, that allows me to go and work out” has been nothing but beneficial.Allen recalled how Steinfeld helped him during the team’s offseason program in Buffalo, ensuring he could stay focused on football while still embracing his new responsibilities as a father.“When we were back in Buffalo for OTAs,” he continued, “just making sure that I could go to the facility, get my work done, be with the guys and understanding what that was for.”The couple welcomed daughter Harper Haize Allen in April and have since been enjoying their first months as parents before Allen returns to the demands of the NFL season.

Allen acknowledged that becoming a father has changed his daily routine in ways he is still learning to navigate.“Kids are ever changing, and so is your schedule,” Allen continued, adding that he’s “trying to ride the wave right now and enjoy” his time with the Pitch Perfect alum and their daughter before training camp. “Just maintaining a positive mindset throughout the whole year.”One of the biggest adjustments has been sleep. Allen joked that he now makes the most of every opportunity to rest before his daughter wakes up.“Once that baby goes down, I know she’s gonna be up early,” he quipped. “So, I gotta get to sleep as soon as I can.”Allen added, “To know that I’m gonna get a good night’s rest and feel up fresh and rejuvenated, that’s well worth it.”The interview offered another glimpse into the couple’s life together after a whirlwind few years. Allen and Steinfeld first sparked dating rumours in 2023 before confirming their relationship later that year. They announced their engagement in November 2024 and married in California in May 2025.In April 2026, they welcomed another addition to the family, Harper Haize Allen. As Allen gets ready to take Buffalo into another NFL season he says his biggest priority is to balance chasing success on the field and never missing the important moments waiting for him at home.
