Belagavi: District administration has declared a two-kilometre ‘No Fly Zone’ around three key venues in Belagavi ahead of RSS’ sarsanghchalak Mohan Bhagwat, from July 6 to 14. Bhagavat’s visit has been planned to attend three-day Akhil Bharatiya Pranta Pracharak Baithak, scheduled from July 10. Before that, he has planned a series of meetings with various leaders and organizations.The high-profile gathering is being widely perceived as a massive show of strength by the RSS, following the Ram Mandir donation controversy and the letter written by home minister Priyank Kharge to Bhagawat.According to sources, full-time pracharaks from across India, senior office bearers and national leaders and key representatives spanning the organization’s structured framework, including 11 zones, 46 regions, and 32 affiliated organizations will take part in the baithak.District magistrate and deputy commissioner Mohammad Roshan has issued an order prohibiting operation of drones, unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs/UAS), paragliders and other aerial devices within notified zones. The order has been issued under section 163 of the BNSS, 2023, citing security considerations during Bhagwat’s visit.The restriction will remain in force from July 6 to July 14, covering a two-kilometre radius around the following locations where Bhagwat is scheduled to participate in various programmes they are Foundry Cluster Guest House at Angol Industrial Area, Sant Meera School at Sahyadri Colony in Bhagyanagar Extension and Shri Jagannathrao Joshi Smarak Bhavan at Goods Shed Road.The administration has declared these areas as ‘Red Zones’ or ‘No Fly Zones’, making it mandatory for individuals and organisations to refrain from operating drones or any other unmanned flying devices within the restricted limits during the notified period.Officials said the temporary restrictions have been imposed as part of comprehensive security arrangements to ensure the smooth conduct of RSS chief’s engagements in the city. The responsibility for enforcing the order has been entrusted to Belagavi police commissioner Bhushan Borse, who has been directed to ensure strict compliance with the notification. The police have warned that any violation of the order will invite legal action under provisions of the BNSS and other applicable laws.
