Yamaha Music India announced the Top 20 shortlisted bands for the 2026 edition of Teens Rock – The Battle of Bands, its national competition for young musicians. Following more than 680 registrations and 270 video submissions from schools and music academies across India, the shortlisted bands will now compete in the offline round, while public voting is underway.Powered by Trinity College London, this year’s competition drew entries from across the country, underlining its growing reach as a platform for emerging young talent.Five bands will be selected through the offline round to compete at the Grand Finale, while the band chosen through public voting will get the opportunity to perform on the stage . The bands will perform before music icon A.R. Rahman at the Grand Finale in Bengaluru, alongside a jury comprising renowned musicians Ranjit Barot, Gulraj Singh and Rhythm Shaw.Public voting opened on August 10 and will continue until September 5. Music enthusiasts, friends, families and supporters can vote for their favourite band through the dedicated voting platform. “At Yamaha Music India, we believe in making music accessible to every aspiring musician. Through platforms like Teens Rock 2026, our aim is to encourage music education and inspire young learners by giving them a platform to showcase their talent,” said Kennei Sakai, Managing Director, Yamaha Music India. “The overwhelming participation from across the country has been truly encouraging.
