Dalton Eatherly, known online as “Chud the Builder,” is out of jail after posting bond in two Tennessee cases. The 28-year-old streamer had spent nearly three months in Montgomery County custody. Clarksville Now reported that he was released August 10, while WSMV confirmed he also posted a $15,000 bond in Davidson County. His release comes with strict rules, including house arrest, GPS monitoring, a gun ban and limits on travel.
Chud the Builder release and house arrest conditions
Chud the builder’s freedom is limited while both cases move forward. According to Clarksville Now, the Davidson County court ordered house arrest, a GPS ankle monitor, no access to weapons or firearms, and no entry into Davidson County unless he has a scheduled court appearance.His passport application must also be stopped or surrendered. The Montgomery County case has similar restrictions. Judge William Goodman III kept Eatherly’s $1 million bond in place and added a 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. curfew earlier in the case.The court also required GPS monitoring, the surrender of firearms and a gag order. Clarksville Now reported that the case has already been sent to a grand jury.WSMV reported that Eatherly posted the $1 million Montgomery County bond and then made the separate $15,000 Davidson County bond.The Nashville prosecutor’s office told the station it could seek to revoke his release if he commits another offense while awaiting trial.That means his release does not close either case, and he remains under court supervision while prosecutors continue the legal process. The conditions remain in place while both cases move through court.
Chud the Builder charges and Tennessee cases
The more serious case comes from a May 13 shooting outside the Montgomery County Courts Center in Clarksville. Chud the Builder faces charges of attempted murder, employing a firearm during a dangerous felony, aggravated assault and reckless endangerment with a deadly weapon. Another man, Joshua Fox, was shot during the confrontation, and Eatherly was also injured.Court records and Clarksville Now reports say the case was sent to a grand jury. Details about what led to the shooting remain disputed, including Eatherly’s claim that he acted in self-defense. Since the case is still pending, the charges are allegations and have not been proven in court.Chud the Builder is also facing a separate Davidson County case tied to a May 9 incident at a Nashville restaurant. He was charged with theft of services of $1,000 or less, disorderly conduct and resisting arrest. WSMV reported that the case followed a dispute over a restaurant bill of about $400 after Eatherly was asked to stop livestreaming and leave.The two cases also come with separate limits on what Chud the Builder can say publicly. Clarksville Now reported that the Montgomery County order blocks discussion of the case through interviews and social media, while the Davidson County order also restricts public discussion of facts, evidence and witnesses. The restrictions do not decide whether Chud the Builder is guilty or innocent; that will be handled through the court process.
