After tiff with wife, man throws 6-yr-old son into river
Police arrested Hitesh Kumar, while 6-year-old Gagandeep remains missing

Kullu: A man threw his six-year-old son into Ravi river in Himachal Pradesh’s Chamba following a dispute with his wife, police said on Tuesday. The child, identified as Gagandeep, remains missing. A police officer said search and rescue operations would resume on Wednesday.Police arrested Hitesh Kumar, the accused, under charges of murder and causing disappearance of evidence. According to the FIR, Kumar and his wife, Sharika, argued at their residence on July 16, following which her brother and relatives arrived and reported the incident to women police station the next day.After reconciliation efforts failed, Sharika left for Amritsar with her younger son, Pushpendra. Gagandeep remained in Chamba with his maternal grandfather, Jaipal. Police said Kumar called his sister at 10pm on Monday, admitting he had thrown Gagandeep off the Parel bridge near the Kali Mata temple into the river.
