Luca Zidane’s spell at Granada has officially come to an end, but the son of French football legend Zinedine Zidane has wasted little time beginning the next chapter of his career. After mutually terminating his contract with one year remaining, the 28-year-old goalkeeper has already secured a move elsewhere in Spain as he continues his career in La Liga 2 following a memorable summer with Algeria at the FIFA World Cup.
Granada and Luca Zidane part ways

Leganés move confirmed

The transfer follows an eventful summer for Luca, who represented Algeria at the 2026 FIFA World Cup.Although born in France and previously capped at youth level by Les Bleus, Luca switched his sporting nationality to Algeria in recognition of his family’s Algerian heritage and to pursue regular senior international football.He featured in three World Cup matches, including Algeria’s Round of 32 defeat to Switzerland, conceding six goals while making eight saves across his tournament appearances.Luca began his professional career at Real Madrid, where he made two senior appearances before spending much of his career in Spain’s second division with Racing Santander, Rayo Vallecano, Eibar and Granada.
