KDEM, GoodWorks target Rs 5,000 cr GCC investments for K’taka

BengaluruThe Karnataka Digital Economy Mission (KDEM) has partnered with GoodWorks Group to attract over Rs 5,000 crore in investments and facilitate the setting up of 50 new global capability centres (GCCs) in the state over the next few years.The initiative will also include sector-focused investor roundtables, business delegations, GCC research reports and promotion of Karnataka across North America, Europe, Japan, South Korea and the Middle East.According to an economic impact assessment by GoodWorks Group, the initiative is expected to create more than 62,500 direct and indirect jobs, generate Rs 2,250 crore in annual salaries and lead to the absorption of 1.25 million sqft of commercial real estate.KDEM CEO Sanjeev Gupta said the partnership would strengthen Karnataka’s leadership in the GCC sector, while GoodWorks Group co-founder Vishwas Mudagal said it would help position the state as the first choice for global companies expanding their India operations.
