Ranchi: BJP on Friday announced that its youth wing, Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha (BJYM), would hold protests across the state on Saturday, seeking a CBI investigation into alleged irregularities in recruitment examinations conducted over the past six years.BJP general secretary Amar Bauri said BJYM workers will organise demonstrations in every district and demand that the examinations under controversy be cancelled.“BJP fully supports the students protesting against alleged irregularities in examinations conducted by the Jharkhand Public Service Commission (JPSC) and the Jharkhand Staff Selection Commission (JSSC),” Bauri said.He said state BJP president Aditya Sahu had repeatedly raised the issue in Parliament. “BJP MPs from Jharkhand staged a dharna on the Parliament premises on Thursday, followed by a silent protest on Friday,” he added.Bauri said BJYM had laid siege to the JPSC office on July 22 on Sahu’s instructions. “A CID probe was subsequently initiated, and several accused were arrested and sent to jail,” he claimed.Calling the state govt’s CID investigation an “eyewash”, Bauri alleged that the probe was intended to shield those behind the alleged irregularities. He demanded stringent punishment for anyone found guilty and urged the Congress to withdraw support from the JMM-led govt.Bauri also demanded the resignation of CM Hemant Soren, who holds the education portfolio, on moral grounds.State Congress media in-charge Rakesh Sinha claimed that in the past 10 years of BJP-led NDA govt at the Centre, youths of the country have been worst affected by paper leaks, unemployment and recruitment scams, adding that now the party is pretending to be a benefactor of the students. “This is shamelessness,” he said.
