Ahmedabad: The Indian Army has concluded its flood relief and rescue operations in Gujarat and the Union territory of Dadra & Nagar Haveli after rescuing more than 790 stranded people over three days, according to the Defence Public Relations Officer (PRO).The PRO said the Humanitarian Assistance and Disaster Relief (HADR) operations began on July 23 under the Southern Command following heavy rain and flooding in several parts of Gujarat.Army rescue and relief columns, including engineer and medical teams, were deployed in Navsari, Valsad, Vapi, Silvassa and flood-hit areas of Ahmedabad district, including Dholka and Rajoda. Additional teams remained on standby to respond to emerging situations, the PRO said.

According to the Defence PRO, Army personnel worked in coordination with the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF), State Disaster Response Force (SDRF), State Emergency Operations Centre (SEOC), district administrations and other agencies during the operations.Medical teams treated affected residents, while relief columns distributed food, drinking water and other essential supplies. Army personnel also assisted the civil administration in restoring normalcy in the affected areas.
