Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar: Progress on the special intensive revision (SIR) of electoral rolls in the district remains slow, with only 46% of the work digitised so far. Of the 32.2 lakh registered voters in the district, enumeration forms for only 14.5 lakh have been processed.The distribution of forms is also lagging. More than 7.5 lakh voters are yet to receive their enumeration forms from booth level officers (BLOs).A senior official from the election branch said efforts are being fast-tracked to regain momentum. “Following a state-level review, the top authorities have set a revised SIR deadline of Aug 8. While BLOs and administrative teams will intensify their field operations, we also appeal to voters to participate actively in the revision process,” the official said.

Authorities have advised citizens who have not yet received their SIR forms to contact the 24-hour helpline at 1950.Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar divisional commissioner G. Sreekanth recently conducted a detailed review of the SIR progress across the Marathwada region. He instructed officials to complete every stage of the task within the stipulated timeframe to ensure the electoral roll is accurate, up-to-date, and error-free. He also directed senior staff to maintain a constant watch on the progress of BLOs.“The divisional commissioner has issued directives to conduct door-to-door physical verification of voter details. This includes filling out enumeration forms with precision, verifying necessary documents, and resolving any pending applications promptly to ensure that no eligible voter is left out,” according to an official release.
