Adelaide Crows defender Josh Worrell has been reported by police and will face court over a traffic crash last week.
Worrell, 25, was involved in a collision involving a pedestrian on Port Road at Woodville on Friday morning.
In a statement, police said the pedestrian — a 29-year-old man — “sustained injuries and was taken to hospital by the driver”.
“Following investigations, the 25-year-old driver was reported for aggravated driving without due care and failing to present to police within 90 minutes after a collision which resulted in injury,” police said.
Police said the crash happened about 8:30am on Friday.
Worrell will be summonsed to appear in court at a later date.
On Friday, the Adelaide Football Club confirmed in a statement that one of its players had been involved in a vehicle accident involving a pedestrian.
Following the crash, Worrell missed the Crows’ morning training.
But he lined up for the Crows in the club’s 79-point win over Gold Coast on Saturday night.
