Ranchi: Enumeration forms have reached over 1 crore voters in Jharkhand in the first seven days of the special intensive revision (SIR) of electoral rolls, state chief electoral officer K Ravi Kumar said on Monday.Booth-level officers (BLOs) covered 39.73% of the state’s electorate — 1,05,13,490 voters — and made enumeration forms available to eligible Indian citizens through door-to-door visits, he stated.Urging recognised political parties to deploy booth-level agents (BLAs) BLA-2s at booths to ensure timely distribution and digitisation of forms at the local level, Kumar said, “BLA-2s can submit enumeration forms of up to 50 voters, excluding voters categorised as absent, shifted, dead, duplicate (ASDD) and refused to sign (foreigner), daily to BLOs. They would also have to certify verification through a declaration. Providing false information may invite penal provisions under the Representation of the People Act, 1950.”Forms collected by BLA-2s and BLOs will be verified by the BLO or BLO supervisor before digitisation. BLA-2s would also prepare lists of voters categorised as ASDD and refused to sign (foreigner), which would be cross-verified with BLOs.“The ASDD list, along with the draft electoral roll, would be published after verification by BLA-2s, on August 5,” the state chief electoral officer said.
